Recommended Dietary Remedies for Toothache
· Salted Duck Egg and Oyster Rice: 2 salted duck eggs, 100g dried oysters (dried oyster meat), and appropriate rice cooked into porridge. Consume continuously for 2–3 days. Suitable for toothaches caused by deficient fire rising upward.
· Century Egg, Tofu Skin, and Salted Lean Pork Porridge: 2 century eggs, 60g rehydrated tofu skin, 100g salted lean pork, and appropriate rice (or millet) cooked into porridge. Consume continuously for 2–3 days. Suitable for tooth pain due to deficiency fire affecting dental caries.
· Mussel, Cistanche, and Black Bean Soup: 30g mussels (also known as sea clam, a seafood product), 30g Cistanche, and 150g black beans. Clean mussels from sand and mud, wash black beans, slice Cistanche, combine all in a pot with sufficient water, and simmer for over one hour. Strain out residue and take the juice in one dose daily. Continue for several days until toothache subsides. Mussels enter the kidney meridian, nourish yin, and reduce fire; black beans tonify the kidneys, remove heat stagnation in the chest, and disperse accumulated heat in the five zang organs. Suitable for toothaches due to dental caries or swollen gums caused by deficient fire.
· Mung Bean and Egg Sweet Soup: 100g mung beans, 1 egg, and appropriate rock sugar. Crush mung beans, wash thoroughly, place in a pot with adequate water, boil until soft. Add the egg into the soup, stir well, cool slightly, then consume in one go. Take continuously for three days. Suitable for wind-heat toothache and oral redness, swelling, and heat-related dental conditions.
