Six Methods to Treat Migraine

Rubbing the Sun Temple: Each morning upon waking and before bedtime, use the middle fingers of both hands to rotate and massage the temples. First rub clockwise 7–8 times, then counterclockwise 7–8 times. Repeat several times daily for several days—this can greatly relieve migraine.
Combing and Massaging Pain Points: Place the tips of both hands’ ten fingers on the most painful area of the head and perform light, quick massage as if combing hair. Perform 100 back-and-forth motions each time. Do this three times daily—before breakfast, lunch, and dinner—to achieve pain relief.
Hot Water Hand Soak: When experiencing a migraine, immerse both hands completely in a pot of hot water (temperature should be tolerable when hands are submerged). Soak for about half an hour. This dilates hand blood vessels, reduces cerebral blood flow, and gradually alleviates migraine.
Herbal Nasal Insertion: Take 15 g each of Ligusticum chuanxiong, Angelica dahurica, and Polygala tenuifolia (roasted), plus 7 g of borneol. Grind into fine powder and store in a bottle. For treating migraine, wrap a small amount of powder in gauze and insert into the right nostril. Pain usually subsides within 15 minutes.
Eating Magnesium-Rich Foods: Migraine sufferers should frequently consume magnesium-rich foods such as walnuts, peanuts, soybeans, seaweed, oranges, almonds, whole grains, and leafy vegetables. This helps alleviate migraine symptoms.
Drank Concentrated Peppermint Tea: Use 15 g dried peppermint leaves in a teacup, pour boiling water over them, steep for 5 minutes, then drink. Consume once in the morning and once in the evening. This also aids in treating migraines.
