Patchouli
Patchouli is the entire herb of Pogostemon cablin or Agastache rugosa from the Lamiaceae family. It contains various essential oils that can inhibit excessive gastrointestinal motility and promote gastric juice secretion, thereby aiding digestion.In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is considered slightly warm in nature and pungent in taste. Its functions include aromatic dampness transformation, harmonizing the middle energizer, stopping vomiting, and dispelling exterior pathogenic factors. It is used for symptoms such as chest and epigastric fullness, poor appetite with nausea, fatigue, and physical weakness due to impaired spleen and stomach function. Additionally, it is used for clearing summer-heat and dampness, relieving vomiting, and treating exterior wind-cold invasion combined with internal dampness stagnation.Dosage: 3–9 grams. <Patchouli>
