Blood-Nourishing Formula No. 8
1 pig trotter, 30g pine nuts, 30g walnut kernels. Clean the trotter, boil until half-cooked, remove bones, take out the skin, fill the inner side with walnut kernels, pine nuts, and small pieces of meat and tendons, roll tightly, tie securely with thread, then boil until tender. Cool, slice, and serve as a side dish. Ancient records state that all three ingredients have moisturizing effects on the skin. Pig trotter nourishes yin and blood, “moistens gastric fluids to lubricate the skin.” Combined, these three ingredients jointly nourish and moisturize the skin. The cosmetic benefits of this formula are closely tied to the nutritional components of the ingredients. Collagen in pig trotters is an excellent beauty tonic; walnuts and pine nuts, being nuts, are rich in fat and protein, with fat content exceeding 40%, primarily consisting of essential fatty acids, which perform various physiological functions in the body. Deficiency leads to impaired cell membrane function—causing eczema in infants and various skin disorders in adults. Additionally, vitamin E in walnuts and pine nuts delays cellular aging and reduces skin pigmentation. Not suitable for individuals with hyperlipidemia, obesity, or loose stools.
