Goji and Rehmannia Wine
① Glutinous rice (or millet) 60,000 grams, yeast (normally 60,000 grams rice uses 6,000 grams yeast; this formula adds 3,000 grams extra, powdered form used) 9,000 grams, goji root (scrape off red bark 0.5 inch deep, crush, soak in 60,000 ml water for 3 days, then boil to extract 30,000 ml juice), rehmannia (wash soil off, slice finely, cook with rice) 12,000 grams, autumn hemp seeds (lightly steamed, extract juice using goji tea infusion) 18,000 ml, Xiang Gu (extract juice using goji tea infusion) 12,000 ml. Combine the four ingredients: cook rehmannia with rice; total juice from three herbs is 30,000 ml; divide rehmannia juice in half—half used to soak rice, half mixed with yeast and cooked rice. Seal the jar tightly, after 14 days press and extract the wine, seal with clay. Consume slowly according to personal tolerance. Avoid raw/cold food, fried, greasy chicken, fish, noodles, garlic, oily foods, alcohol, and sexual activity during consumption. After taking, rest for 7–14 days. This formula treats internal pathogenic factors, diabetes, wind-damp, chest and rib distension, headache (especially severe pain), strengthens tendons and bones, reinforces yin, promotes urination and defecation, fills bone marrow, builds muscle, breaks up stagnation, cures five labors and seven injuries, clears old food in stomach, benefits hearing and eyesight, stops hemoptysis, treats wind syndromes, tonifies center, expels water, breaks up accumulations, removes pus and stone calculus, promotes hair growth, prevents colds, malaria, toxic qi, irritability, chest tightness, chronic fatigue, cough, eliminates heat, breaks up blood stasis, and treats foot qi and liver bi. As recorded in *Yitai Miao Yao*. ② Goji berries 1200 grams, fresh rehmannia juice 2000 ml. Mix these two ingredients; each time on the Ren Gui day in October, first soak in 1400 ml good wine in a porcelain bottle for 21 days. After opening, add rehmannia juice (without introducing raw water), do not stir, seal with three layers of paper, open before Lichun (Start of Spring) minus 30 days. Drink one cup warm on empty stomach daily. Suitable for deficiency of essence and blood, with anti-aging and longevity benefits. <Tonifying Formula>
