Schisandra Berry
【Source】This product is the mature fruit of the woody vine plants Schisandra chinensis (North) and Schisandra sphenanthera (South), both belonging to the Menispermaceae family. North Schisandra is mainly produced in Northeast China, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, and Shanxi provinces; South Schisandra grows in the Yangtze River region and Southwest China. North Schisandra has superior quality compared to South Schisandra.
【Pharmacological Components】Contains schizandrin, malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, vitamin C, essential oils, fatty oils, sugars, resins, tannins, etc. It regulates the excitation and inhibition processes of the central nervous system, balancing them, thus improving work efficiency and reducing fatigue; possesses cardiotonic, hypotensive effects, stimulates respiration and uterine contractions; reduces serum transaminase levels and offers some liver protection; inhibits pathogens including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
