Blood-Nourishing Pain-Relieving Porridge
[Ingredients] 15 grams Astragalus membranaceus, 15 grams Angelica sinensis, 15 grams Paeonia lactiflora, 10 grams Leonurus artemisia, 100 grams glutinous rice, appropriate amount of brown sugar.
[Preparation] Boil Astragalus, Angelica, Paeonia, and Leonurus for 15 minutes, filter out residue, take juice, add glutinous rice to cook porridge. Add brown sugar when nearly cooked.
[Usage] Consume warm in the morning and evening, start 7 days before menstruation.
[Action] Tonifies blood and qi, strengthens spleen and stomach, relieves pain. Indicated for menstrual pain.
[Comment] Astragalus and Angelica tonify qi and nourish blood. Paeonia, glutinous rice, and brown sugar are sour and sweet, consolidating yin and relieving urgency and pain. Leonurus activates blood circulation, removes stasis, and relieves pain. Can be used as supplementary dietary therapy during menstruation.
