Gastrodia and Uncaria Tea
[Ingredients] 5 grams gastrodia rhizome, 6 grams uncaria hook, 10 grams green tea.
[Preparation] Wash gastrodia and uncaria, simmer twice with appropriate water, filter out residue; use the liquid to steep green tea, cover and steep for 5–10 minutes.
[Usage] One dose per day, consumed as tea substitute.
[Effects] Calms liver yang, extinguishes wind, induces tranquility. Used for hypertension due to excessive liver yang, dizziness, blurred vision, neurasthenia, and limb numbness.
[Comment] Gastrodia contains gastrodin and vanillyl alcohol, effective for vertigo caused by arteriosclerosis in elderly people. Uncaria and green tea have blood pressure-lowering effects. Combined, these three ingredients provide gentle and sustained action—ideal beverage for lowering blood pressure and relieving dizziness.
