Hawthorn and Mulberry Fruit Decoction
[Ingredients] 30 grams fresh hawthorn (20 grams dried), 30 grams mulberry fruit (20 grams dried).
[Preparation] Soak hawthorn and mulberry fruit in warm water, rinse clean, place in a pot, add appropriate water, simmer gently for 20 minutes.
[Usage] Divide and take in morning and afternoon; eat fruit and drink broth.
[Benefits] Tonifies liver and kidney, nourishes yin and blood, aids digestion, lowers lipids, softens blood vessels. Used for atherosclerosis due to yin deficiency and blood insufficiency, symptoms include dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision, premature graying hair, dry mouth, constipation, insomnia, and seminal emission.
[Note] Hawthorn is internationally recognized as an excellent medicinal and edible substance for softening blood vessels and lowering cholesterol. Mulberry fruit has anti-aging properties. Mulberry oil extracted from mulberry fruit contains linoleic acid and small amounts of stearic acid and oleic acid, which help soften arterial walls.
[Caution] This formula has mild laxative effect; not suitable for those with spleen-stomach deficiency-cold or loose stools.
