Spinach can detoxify alcohol toxicity
Spinach alternative names: Persian grass, red-rooted grass. Spinach originated from the Western Regions. A monk brought its seeds here, claiming it was originally from the country of Puling.
Flavor and nature of spinach and its root: sweet, cold, slippery, non-toxic.
Indications: benefits the five viscera, clears intestinal and gastric heat, detoxifies alcohol. Beneficial for those taking mineral-based medicines. Promotes blood circulation, opens the chest and diaphragm, regulates qi, alleviates thirst, moistens dryness. The root is especially effective.
Supplementary formula: For excessive thirst due to diabetes. Drinking up to one sheng (approx. 1 liter) per day. Equal parts of spinach root and chicken gizzard lining, ground into powder. Take one qian (about 3 grams) with rice congee three times daily.
*Note: "Baihe disease" is an ancient term referring to residual heat after typhoid fever, manifesting as mental confusion and vague discomfort. Patients cannot maintain stability in walking, standing, sitting, or lying down. Baihe is a primary herb used in treating this condition.
