[Note] Tetanus: Modern medicine’s tetanus closely resembles traditional Chinese "spasm syndrome," primarily characterized by neck and back stiffness, limb convulsions, and opisthotonus. The condition progresses rapidly and can be life-threatening. Hospital emergency care should be prioritized. In cases where emergency care fails or medical equipment/drugs are unavailable, medicinal wine becomes the choice—but must be prepared and administered quickly and strictly according to instructions.
Note: This wine first appeared in "Hai Shang Fang". A patient was injected with "tetanus antitoxin serum", acupuncture at Hegu, Taichong, Dazhui, Fengchi points, and took Jade True Powder, yet symptoms persisted. Then given this wine; during the night, sticky sweat appeared, and by morning, jaw stiffness and opisthotonus had disappeared.

[Note] Evil wind backward bending refers to spastic rigidity attacks in tetanus. This formula uses powdered red copper ash, heated and processed. Copper particles are difficult or insoluble in water or alcohol, but trace amounts may still leach out through thermal processing. Whether there is a relationship between copper and spastic rigidity or tetanus warrants further scientific research. Thus, this formula is included for reference by researchers seeking new treatments for tetanus.
