Da Huang Huai Jiao Wine (Burns)

🔑 Keywords: Pharmaceutical Wine
[Formula] Equal parts Rhubarb, Sophora Flower, appropriate amount of 80% ethanol.
[Preparation] Grind the first two ingredients finely, soak in 80% ethanol (2–3 cm above the herb layer) for 48 hours, then filter.
[Function] Astringent, anti-inflammatory, promotes blood circulation and tissue regeneration.
[Indication] Burns.
[Usage] External use. First disinfect the wound with 0.01% cetavlon solution, clean the wound (if oily substances are present, wipe off with gasoline first), puncture blisters and drain exudate. For superficial second-degree burns, leave blister skin intact; for deep second-degree or infected superficial second-degree burns where blister skin is displaced or contaminated, remove the blister skin and wipe the wound. Choose one of the following methods based on condition: (1) Exposed therapy: suitable for areas difficult to bandage (e.g., face, neck, perineum). Apply the preparation with sterile cotton swabs (or dilute slightly with 80% ethanol and spray using a sprayer). Initially 3–4 times daily for 1–2 days, then reduce to 1–2 times daily. If exudate appears, dry with sterile dry cotton swab before reapplying (or spraying). Do not bandage.
(2) Semi-exposed therapy: suitable for deep second-degree or infected superficial second-degree wounds. Cut a single layer of gauze soaked with the preparation to match the wound size, place directly on the wound, press for half a minute to allow semi-exposure.
(3) Bandaging therapy: suitable for outpatient patients without exposure conditions.
