Notes: Jusheng is another name for sesame seed, sweet and mild, non-toxic, nourishes liver and kidney, moistens five zang organs, expels wind-dampness—acts as principal herb. Yi Yi Ren, sweet and bland, strengthens spleen and promotes diuresis—acts as secondary herb. Sheng Jiang, pungent and warm, disperses cold and aids digestion. Di Huang nourishes yin and supplements kidney. Thus, this formula both expels pathogenic factors and tonifies vital essence, with mild nature, especially suitable for elderly patients with wind deficiency, arthralgia, weakness in limbs, and waist-knee pain.
