Self-Massage for Hypertension Prevention and Treatment

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Tuina
For hypertension, besides emotional regulation and medication, self-massage is an excellent preventive and therapeutic measure. Here are several effective techniques:
Push the head: Use the fleshy parts (lateral palms) of both hands to press and rub the sides of the head, moving from the solar points toward the Fengchi points. Then switch to using both thumbs to rub the Fengchi points until a sensation of soreness and fullness is felt.
Stroke the forehead: Sit upright. Bend the index fingers and use their outer edges to stroke from the Yintang point between the eyebrows outward to the solar points, repeating at least 10 times.
Regulate Qi: Place both hands flat on the chest, palms facing the chest. Inhale deeply through the nose, then exhale slowly through the mouth while gently sliding hands downward to the lower abdomen. Repeat 10 times.
Wash the waist: Interlock fingers and firmly press along both sides of the spine from the upper back down to the tailbone. Perform 20 repetitions each time.
Pinch the palm: When blood pressure spikes suddenly, pinch the center of the palm as an emergency lowering measure. Method: Start with the right hand—use the left thumb to press the center of the right palm, moving upward from the palm to the fingertips. Return to the palm and repeat until all fingertips are pressed. Then repeat the same process on the left hand.
