Facial Skin Beautification Exercises
Facial skin beautification exercises essentially involve facial massage. The principle is that massage improves blood circulation in the skin, promotes metabolism, and makes the skin moist, radiant, and full of vitality.
First, direction of massage:
Wrinkles run perpendicular to muscle fibers. Massaging perpendicular to wrinkles means following the direction of muscle growth. That is, if wrinkles are horizontal, massage vertically; if vertical, massage horizontally. Since facial muscles grow in one direction, massage should also follow one direction. Avoid repeatedly pulling muscles back and forth, as this may actually cause wrinkles.
Second, circular motions around eyes and mouth:
Wrinkles around the eyes and mouth radiate outward from the eyes and lips, due to surrounding orbicularis muscles. Massage in the direction of muscle fibers with circular motions. Do not apply excessive force during massage.
Third, gentle technique:
Massage until the skin feels slightly warm or shows mild redness. Each session lasts about 10–20 minutes, ideally accompanied by soothing music for better effect.
Fourth, do not perform massage if skin has infection or acne, to prevent spread of infection and potential harm.
Fifth, cleanse the face before massage and apply massage cream. This reduces effort and ensures smoothness. After massage, wipe off the cream with a warm towel—this feels comfortable and further enhances the massage effect.
Sixth, massage can be performed independently or by another person, but hands must be thoroughly cleaned beforehand.
